The new Ford Edge that has been manufactured and assembled in Belgium would be arriving in car dealer stores and in showrooms soon enough this year. And to give Ford customers quite a thrill would be the fact that this new Ford crossover would come loaded and packed with safety features and equipment - all made standard. Side air bags, the Safety Canopy air curtain system with rollover detection, and the AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control are just a couple of the standard safety features that this vehicle holds.
The safety equipment in the Ford Edge is all part of the company's strategy towards boosting up their declining sales. In fact, the company actually recently announced that the 2007 models of the current models Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan will be offering side air bags and air curtains as standard features. This move is also part of the Ford Motor Company's step towards commitment to providing and ensuring safety. In fact, Cisco Codina, the group vice president of North America Marketing's Sales and Service, states, "These changes are sure signs that Ford is on offense and fighting back. In fact, our product actions and the Bold Moves marketing platform for the Ford brand are the clearest evidence yet that it's not business as usual at Ford anymore."
As per the new Ford Edge, this vehicle would be providing safety for aside from the features previously mentioned, this vehicle also contains dual-stage driver and front-passenger air bags, a driver seat position sensor, passenger seat occupant classification sensor, load-limiting safety belts retractors, and pretensioners. Also installed in the Edge are an energy-absorbing steering wheel and knee bolster for the driver plus an energy-absorbing glove box for the passenger. The Ford company's safety chief engineer Stephen Kozak proclaims, "Edge's confident handling helps drivers avoid accidents, especially when paired with the industry-exclusive AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC). Should an accident occur, Edge features a comprehensive package of passive safety features to help protect people inside the car.
